Meter Checks
- Where the customer requests that, a meter reading be checked or a meter be tested, PNG Power Ltd must, as the case may be:
- check the meter reading; or
- test the meter.
The customer must pay in advance to the charge for checking the meter reading or for testing the meter.
- Costs of test
If, as a result of a test requested by a customer, the meter:
- shows an error of plus or minus 2% or more in the amount of electricity recorded, PNG Power Ltd will bear the cost of the test; or
- shows no error or an error of less than plus or minus 2% in the amount of electricity recorded, the customer who requested the test will pay the cost of the test.
- Results of test PNG Power Ltd will provide the customer with the results of the test.
- Repair or replacement of meter
If a test conducted, shows an error in a meter of plus or minus 2% or more in the amount of electricity recorded, PNG Power Ltd will:
- repair, or procure the repair, of the meter so that the error is rectified; or
- replace the meter by installing a new meter, within 5 business days.
