PNG Power Ltd is a state owned Enterprise with the Government's ownership interest held by the IPBC. Its core business is in generation, transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity service through its major transmission and distribution networks in Port Moresby, Ramu Valley and Gazelle Peninsula (Rabaul) that are supplied by major hydro power plants and diesel thermal generation stations throughout PNG.

MANAGER LAE DISTRBUTION

Closing Date: COB Wednesday 10th August 2011

Reporting to the Business Manager Lae, the incumbent is expected to manage the delivery of PPL's short to medium term Maintenance Programme, by coordinating planned and unplanned maintenance activities in designated areas for distribution and to manage distribution assets team and workflow establishing a safe and conducive work environment.


The ideal candidate must have;

 

- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and or in a Business/Commercial field.
- Should be registered with the Institute of Engineers PNG.
- A tactical level thinker who is results oriented, commercially oriented, organised and commands respect.
- proven record in managing delivery of Generation, Transmission and Distribution Maintenance Programmes in Engineering.
- Must have a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation as required.

 

BUSINESS MANAGER - LAE

Closing Date: COB Wednesday 10th 2011

Reporting to the Regional Manager New Guinea Mainland, the incumbent is expected to manage the customer services activities associated with area community relations, local government territorial planning, local debt collections, retail sales and relationship management and provision of technical advice and support. Also deliver PPL's short to medium term Maintenance Programme, by coordinating planned (scheduled) and unplanned maintenance activities in designated areas for distribution and to manage distribution assets team and workflow establishing a safe and conducive work environment.


The ideal candidate must have;

 

- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and or in a Business/Commercial field.
- Degree in Business / Commercial field with relevant power sector experience.
- Above average ability in the areas of management such as Business, Management, Commercial and Value Management, Operations Management, Relationship Management, Risk Management, Business Performance Management, Project Management, Leadership and Change Management with good communication skills.
- A tactical level thinker who is results oriented, commercially oriented, organised and commands respect.
- A proven track record in overseeing and managing delivery of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Maintenance Programmes in Engineering.
- Must have a working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation as required


TEAM LEADER BUDGET ACCOUNT

Closing Date: COB Wednesday 10th 2011

Reporting to the Management Accountant, this position is expected to take responsibility for the budget development process and ensure forecasted revenue is balanced and regulated with expenditure in alignment with PPL's business plans and needs.


The ideal candidate must have;


- Graduate level qualifications in Accounting or Business Management.
- Successfully completed a CPA programme and is a currently practicing accountant.
- Above average ability in financial analysis and accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of budget and forecasting issues and techniques, be able to analyse and summerise complex financial information.
- Be innovative and analytical, demonstrating strong tendencies in organising assertiveness and is commercially and result-oriented.

 

TEAM LEADER CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT

Closing Date: COB Wednesday 10th 2011

Reporting to Management Accountant, this position ensures that PPL has and maintains access to the liquid funds needed to sustain business operations.


The ideal candidate must have;


- Graduate level qualifications in Accounting or Business Management.
- Successfully completed a CPA programme and is a currently practicing accountant.
- Above average ability in financial analysis and accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of cash flow and forecasting issues and techniques, be able to analyse and summarise complex financial information, and must have sound knowledge of financial and costing systems.
- Be innovative and analytical, demonstrating strong tendencies in organising assertiveness and is commercially and result-oriented.

 

PROJECT MANAGER RURAL ELECTRIFICATION (X3) - HIGHLANDS, SOUTHERN & MOMASE

Closing Date: COB Wednesday 10th 2011

The primary objective of these positions is to ensure any approved Rural Electrification Projects in each of these three regions is completed on time, within budget and in accordance to set specifications.


The ideal candidate must have;


Tertiary level qualification in Engineering.
- Tertiary Project Management qualification or equivalent experience.
- At least a tertiary level qualification that covers Business Administration, HR, Finance, Risk and Operations Management (or equivalent experience that is clearly demonstrable).
- Be able to demonstrate a successful track record in senior management position within the power industry.
- Experience working on major projects that involve heavy engineering constructions of distribution lines.
- Be able to demonstrate success in senior level project establishing and managing large commercial contracts.
- Above average ability in areas of Project, Contract Commercial and Financial Management and Delegation.
- Have significant negotiating experience and be innovative, approachable, assertive and results-oriented.
