Requirements

Primary Objectives:
This position, reporting to the Team Leader Electrical, plays a crucial role in assisting the Team Leader and Electrical Maintenance Team in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment and auxiliaries across the power stations within the Rouna hydro establishment. It ensures the reliable and efficient operation of the station’s electrical systems by designing, maintaining, and repairing equipment. This includes troubleshooting issues, performing inspections, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies

Minimum Qualifications:
A recognised Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power)
Must be registered with the Institute of Engineers PNG (IEPNG) 

Minimum Experience:
The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in an Electrical Engineering role, preferably within the energy generation industry. Experience working in hydro power stations is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate success in the following areas

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all electrical equipment, including turbines, generators, and other machinery. 
Identify and resolve electrical issues, ensuring prompt corrective actions and minimizing downtime.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to prevent equipment failures and optimize performance
Analyze system performance data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability
Work with mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and other specialists to coordinate projects
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, prepare reports, and keep records of equipment repairs
Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), particularly MEX, to streamline maintenance operations and asset management
Working knowledge of Occupational, Health and Safety regulations applicable for the power industry
Must be a member of IEPNG

Critical Skills and Qualifications:
Engineering degree
Relevant experience in hydroelectric plant operations and maintenance, or similar power plant settings. 
Ability to diagnose problems, analyze data, and develop solutions.  
Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills (Oral/Written/Verbal)
Project Management skills
Knowledge of Industry standards
Working knowledge of OHS legislations and requirements
