Primary Objectives:
Reporting to the Project Manager Energy Utility Performance & Reliability Improvement Project (EUPRIP) , this position is responsible to provide Team leadership towards EUPRIP’s objectives to improve the reliability of electricity in the project areas. This position will take lead in planning, cost/budgeting, scoping, procurement and installation supervision & contract management of the (1) medium voltage network construction and (2 Milford & Taraka Substation Transformer capacity Upgrade. Additionally, this position will ensure all deliverables under Reliability Improvement projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the necessary requirements, this role requires a solid grasp of electrical systems and principles in addition to project or contract management experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Power Option)
- Must be registered with the Institute of Engineers PNG (IEPNG)
Minimum Experience:
The position holder must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in construction & supervision and lead roles within the power industry. Specifically, the position holder should have significant experience and be able to demonstrate success in the following areas:
- Minimum 5 years work as an electrical engineer.
- Experience in project management
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering software
- Excellent knowledge of electrical design and electrical systems. Proven effective technical experience at senior level in electricity utility or power system-based infrastructure
- Proven effective delivery of substation and/or distribution implementation.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medium voltage line construction
