VOLUNTARY RESIGNATION OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, OBED BATIA
On Monday 23rd October, Chief Executive Officer of PNG Power Limited (PPL), Obed Batia, submitted his letter of resignation to the Board of PPL, through the Office of the Chairman.
The Board resolved to accept his voluntary resignation and would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Batia for his thirty-four (34) years of selfless service to the company.
During his career, Mr. Batia spent thirteen (13) years in Executive Management roles, and lately as the Chief Executive Officer for the last two (2) years. Mr. Batia has contributed immensely to PNG Power Limited in the various roles he occupied over the years.
Consequently, the Board has resolved to put in place an Officer in Charge to oversee the operations until such time the National Executive Council (NEC) / Shareholder makes an appointment.
In the interim, Mr. Nehemaiah Naris will be the Officer in Charge. Mr Naris is the incumbent Deputy CEO and has over fifteen (15) years of experience holding various senior positions within Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH) and lately as the Deputy CEO of PPL. Mr. Naris has an MBA from the University of Illinois and a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland.
